Typical day in Alaska

Today we went back to Campbell Park as it had been such a hit with the kids.

Ellie loves climbing up on the play structure by herself. Today Willem was chasing her and she was laughing and very excited to be playing with her brother.

We told the kids we were taking a different trail today and that we'd see bridges and be able to throw rocks in the water. When we got to the bridge I see Willem come over to the stroller and go to the storage area and pull a handful of rocks out. What a planner!

We finally found the elusive salmon! Heidi and I were chatting away and noticed that Marley and Willem were sitting on the bridge fascinated by something. Then they came running over to us and said they had found red fish. Low and behold they had found a group of what we believe to be Coho Salmon. They were really excited to go down and catch them but we told them we'd wait for their Dads to be part of that activity.

This is the kids favorite spot at Campbell Park, it's a grassy area with big rocks alongside the trail. They play there for the longest time. Today they were riding horses (aka the rocks), picking flowers for a Fairy tale game, and blowing bubbles. Jake leads the way climbing on the rocks and Ellie loves crawling around in the grass and watching the older three.

Ellie is very expressive. She is very playful and loves being tickled and chased around. Today while I was cooking, she climbed into the bar stool very patiently and methodically. Once she was in she gave us a big, toothy grin. At first she couldn't figure out how to get back out, but she didn't fuss or lift her hands up for help, she just kept trying different ways until she slithered back under the chair.
