Getting settled & Kincaid Park

Our 1st day in Alaska was exciting and tiring for all. We stocked up on supplies at the most scenic Wal-Mart I've ever been too. It's located in Eagle River about 20 minutes from where we're staying and the drive was stunning. We were surrounded by a forest and then all of the sudden there is a Wal-Mart. Going to Wal-Mart with a vague idea of what you are shopping for with two kids who didn't get enough sleep the previous night equals a lot of "I remember those days" from my fellow Wal-Mart shoppers trying to ignore my kiddos screaming. None the less, we had fun, Willem was found in the arcade after a Code Adam page and we ended up with enough food to get us through the week.

Dad got home ready to explore the town so we headed off to Kincaid Park with our friends the Ogao's around 6pm. Despite the lack of sleep the past couple of days, the sun being up really gave us a second wind and we had a lot of fun hiking through the park and playing on the playground afterwords.

Amazing views!

Willem is so confident on the playground now, today he wanted to figure out how to go down the fire pole and away he went.
