Summer swim lessons came to an end with Coach Sydney. Willem and Ellie are swimming like fish and using strokes. Audrey is getting comfortable with the water and being in the pool with someone besides me.
Soccer season began! Ellie and Willem are playing this year and Audrey enjoys dressing the part.
Ellie is doing group violin lessons as well this year and enjoys the games and having other kids in her class.
Willem and I went on a date to the Art Museum. The kids love the firefly room. It was Kids Day on this particular day and Willem made a piece of art work. He was disappointed to learn though that they were not going to hang up his work in the museum.
Jason thought his battery had died, so he and Willem replaced the battery together. Later found out it was something else but it was good practice.
Our daily pickup routine. Last year's carline is a thing of the past. With the kids in three different classes now, We do a bit of walking each day for drop off and pickup but it's a nice transition to home time. (quite hot this time of year though)
Audrey's 1st day going to school by herself.
Ellie can now play the bunny song and monkey song. She's quite proud that she can put fingers on the strings now. Her favorite violin practice game is the fruit snack game. Her favorite thing to practice is Up Like A Rocket.
Our insurance company gave us tickets to a Cardinals/Diamondbacks game so we took Willem on a date. We had amazing seats but what made Willem happy was that it was Science night at the park. They had robotics activities set up and various stations that we checked out throughout the game.
Ellie is happy to be coming off the field. Note the dress under her uniform. She declared that she enjoys watching Willem play and has no interest in playing again. It was a HARD season but we made her stick it out to the end. Maybe in a year or two she'll try it again.
Ellie with one of her besties who was on the team with her.
Jason helping to coach on the field.
Willem's 1st cub scout activity- selling popcorn. He and Jason manned a table outside the grocery store and did quite well. Jason has some funny stories from this day. So far sales is not Willem's thing... May be a little too direct for that line of work. Thankfully there are many kind people in the world who stopped and patiently talked to him about the popcorn, why he likes being a scout, etc.
